Abstract (English)

The monumental constructed sculptures of Hall force an engagement between elements of midwestern architecture and the modernist traditions of constructivism and minimalism. This catalogue comprising Kuspit's article "Michael Hall: Revitalizing constructivism" focuses on ten sculptures from the "Waltz" series (1982-1987) arguing the relationship to modernism, technology and social identity.
