Nature ReduxTools Garneau, David; Tousley, Nancy. Nature Redux. Lethbridge Alta: Southern Alberta Art Gallery, 1996.
Abstract (English)"Nature Redux, our first outdoor sculpture exhibition, was situated within Galt Gardens, a four-block area of public parkland in the hear of downtown Lethbridge and adjacent to the gallery building. The five artists who participated – Carl Granzow (Lethbridge), Bart Habermiller (Calgary), Susan Shantz (Saskatoon), Laurie Walker (Montreal), and Tim Watkins (Brooklyn) – were selected because their work addresses concerns about the natural world, albeit from differing points of view. At the close of the 20th century, with widespread media attention being paid to the environment, contemporary art which implicates the aesthetics of landscape is inescapably committed to participating in the politics of nature or, at the very least, acknowledging that it has become a broad social concern. Nature Redux presented five points along the continuum of this shift in thinking regarding the balance between nature and human culture." -- Publisher's website.
