Abstract (English)

"Elizabeth Posthuma Simcoe (1762-1850) was an early tourist and watercolourist passing though Montréal as she traveled with her husband, John Graves Simcoe (1752-1806) on his way to found the city of Toronto. Felicity Tayler and Denis Longchamps study the relationship between Simcoe's picturesque travels and the present-day touristic development in the heart of downtown Montréal." -- Distributor's website.
