Abstract (English)".(La Société de Conservation du Présent), a collective made up of three members - Alain Bergeron, Philippe Côté, and Jean Dubé - was created in 1985. The critical, sharp, humorous, and sometimes irreverent trio bore witness to a new intellectual, artistic, and social dynamic. The state of the world, the twentieth century, language, technology, museology, the free circulation of archives, and the Third World debt were some of the many fields of investigation that led them to take a stance and spurred them in action. The often furtive but resolutely prolific collective made its mark through its rubber-stamped words and icons, its slogans and pictograms, and its zealous (mis)use of punctuation in numerous printed documents and important production of laminated plastic cards. At the dawn of new media art, the group was also a forerunner of creative software development and the then-nascent digital networks field. In conserving the present, the .(SCP) met the challenge of rethinking the past, and the future, in light of the multitude of issues facing society and the art world." -- p. [4] of cover. L'ordre du monde, le vingtième siècle, le langage, la technique, la muséologie, la libre circulation des archives et la dette du Tiers-Monde sont autant de champs de recherche qui auront guidé ses prises de position et le choix de ses actions. Souvent furtive mais prolifique, elle s'est fait remarquer par ses empreintes estampillées, ses slogans, ses pictogrammes et l'usage intempestif de la ponctuation dans de nombreux imprimés et son importante production de cartes plastifiées.
