Abstract (English)

" This publication documents Jamelie Hassan's 2014 installation Nur in the library of the Great Mosque of Xi'an, situated within Hui (Muslim) quarter of the old city in Xi'an, China. In this site-specific artwork Hassan decorated the ceiling of the Mosqu's library with cadmium yellow ink and gold painted calligraphy of the Qur'an sura 24:35, The Light Verse.
