Abstract (English)

The development in the 1970's of the notion of photography as a language structured similarly to verbal language is discussed with reference made to semiotics. Guest curator Slemmmons has assembled pictures incorporating text with images in an attempt to examine photography-as-language when confronted with the two systems of notation.
