Abstract (English)

The relationship of the photograph to past industrial-technological subjects and now to the "new landscape" of high-tech, are discussed in two texts on the work of Cumming, Friedlander and Groover. Commissioned by the MIT Committee on the Visual Arts, these images subvert the purely documentary to provide a searching glimpse into the ambiguous consequences of the new technology.
