Abstract (English)"In 1967 the Art Gallery of Windsor acquired by gift The Pictou Sketchbook (1876), consisting of paintings and drawings, by the mid-nineteenth-century Canadian artist, William G.R. Hind (1833-1889). This intimate, pocket-sized sketchbook, measuring only 9.2 by 15 centimetres, contains one of the largest collections of William Hind's paintings and watercolours from the 1870s in public trust and is one of two known sketchbooks to remain intact. Adapting its original function, Hind used it for recording his sketches of Pictou County, Nova Scotia. The first volume contains an essay by Catherine M. Mastin and a catalogue of the works, while the second volume is a facsimile of the "Sketchbook." -- Doull Books website.
