Abstract (English)

According to Fraser, McCollum's "Plaster Surrogates" question the concepts of artistic production, authenticity, and originality by maintaining only the essential attributes of unique objects. Wilmes demonstrates the interconnectedness of McCollum's production between 1978 and 1988, referring to repetition, the inutility of the artwork, the artwork as a sign, and commodification.
