Abstract (English)" HOME grew out of a concept that is becoming increasingly shaky in today’s world: something to call home. The project was inspired by contemporary image-based art practices and privileged, intimate conversations with artists as they worked through their various projects. HOME expands into literary form topics that are often fragile, political, or concealed behind a conceptual façade, with hidden threads that are disconcertingly recurrent in several artists’ work. What is there even to call home in the world as it is? HOME is a collection of literary essays by Karim Kattan, Catherine Mavrikakis, Kaitlyn Purcell, Nina Yargekov, and France Choinière, also the book’s editor, as well as a visual piece created expressly by Cindy Dumais to inhabit the heart of the book.
