Abstract (English)

The authors examine such issues as public violence (providing a typology and refering to women's work and Heidegger's house), public art, public space, the "breakdown of the bourgeois domestic myth", deconstruction and the possibility of justice. Also discussed: reality as the first casualty of war; artistic and popular response to the Gulf War; and the war in Croatia. Includes interviews with Manuel Delanda and Chief Gary Potts. Interspersed with contributions by six visual artists. Brief biographical notes on all contributors. 160 bibl. ref.
