Abstract (English)

Kelly traces the history of the university's art programme from 1854 to 1945. Townsend-Gault demonstrates the eclectism of work by contemporary instructors in sculpture, photography, video, and installation. Eyland treats painting by instructors and graduates since the 1940s, commenting upon the "Atlantic Realist" style. 28 bibl. ref.
