Abstract (English)

Proposing a "biography" for one of the characters in their performance titled "Medusa," Dempsey and Millan provide an account of a woman's life from a childhood of ethnic difference in Manitoba through the experience of abuse and betrayal, and gender shifting as a strategy of belonging, to a transformation of identity and the assumption of power.
