Tomiyo Sasaki : Four Video InstallationsTools Stoesser, Elise. Tomiyo Sasaki : Four Video Installations. Regina, Sask.: Dunlop Art Gallery, 1986.
Abstract (English)Sasaki began working in video in 1971 and her tapes continue to find a basis in her experience as a painter. Taping wildlife in its natural habitat, Sasaki uses an editing technique which isolates and repeats specific moments to produce vivid, rhythmic sequences of recorded animal behaviour. Further complexity is achieved in multi-channel, multi-screen installation. The four tapes of this exhibition have been executed between 1901 and 1984.
