Abstract (English)

While Hurtig presents the exhibited works as challenging the paradoxical fact that "feminist orthodoxy strictly regulates the lesbian gaze," Ross discusses Adelman's appropriation of sexually explicit images in the context of a queer sexual imaginary. Kotz investigates the maligned conception of "female scopophilia" in a Freudian context, and Payne refers to Adelman's earlier work. Biographical notes. 46 bibl. ref.
