Abstract (English)

This book reproduces the 50 collective designs which Boetti had woven into Kilim carpets in Pakistan and Afghanistan in 1993. Analysing Boetti's practice, the authors parallel his preoccupations (symmetry, opposites, languages, unity and variety, etc.) with texts, philosophies, formulas, and fables from various cultures.

Cet ouvrage reproduit les 50 dessins collectifs à partir desquels Boetti a fait tisser en 1993 des tapis Kilim au Pakistan et en Afghanistan. Analysant la démarche de Boetti, les auteurs associent les préoccupations de l'artiste (symétrie, opposition des contraires, langages, unité et variété, etc.) à certains textes, philosophies, formules et fables provenant de diverses cultures.
