Abstract (English)

This catalogue documents Christo's wrapping of a castle in the small German village of Monschau and includes many of the letters exchanged between the artist, the village's mayor, and various suppliers. Bongard briefly comments on Christo's overcoming of traditional boundaries in art. Also includes many German newspaper responses to the piece.

Ce catalogue documente l'empaquetage par Christo d'un château situé dans le petit village allemand de Monschau et reproduit la correspondance entre l'artiste, le maire du village et divers fournisseurs. Bongard examine brièvement comment Christo transgresse les frontières artistiques traditionnelles. Inclut également les réactions de la presse allemande à ce projet.
