Abstract (English)

In this artist’s book to accompany Morgan’s installation “The Man Who Waits and Sleeps While I Dream,” Randolph’s text (informed by psychoanalytic theory) situates the artist’s work within the context of the “Elizabethan Post-Modern.” The author compares the role of poetry in the Elizabethan era with the role of science and technology in postmodernism, while placing emphasis on the concept of sleep. Includes transcriptions of Morgan’s dreams, textual elements from the installation and the lyrics of M. Willson’s song “Goodnight, My Someone.” 17 bibl. ref.
