Abstract (English)

The 2000 edition of a yearly publication by Video Pool, a Winnipeg-based artist-run centre dedicated to video production and distribution. It contains essays by: R. Fisher (on the impact of new technologies); J. Lion (on a video series/publication entitled Magnetic North); A. Golden (on a “Queer City Cinema 2000” panel discussion); and E. MacPherson (on the relationship between video art and the film industry). S. Heimbecker provides an overview of the “send + receive” 1999 sound festival, which is followed by two interviews (N. Gingras with the Æ collective, and G. Redpath with D. Burgoyne). Also includes the Moscam artists’ project by J. Loewen, B. George and D. Rice. Includes list of Video Pool awards and recent acquisitions, as well as general information on the centre. Brief biographical notes on selected authors and artists. 16 bibl. ref.
