Abstract (English)

Holubizky’s curatorial essay draws attention to how the artist’s mixed media works refer to the land, but resist easy categorization within the genre of landscape painting. The author also discusses Western art historical concepts of nature, realism and the sublime. Includes five textual “accompaniments” by Bennett, written in response to the artist’s “Terraforms.” Biographical notes. 20 bibl. ref.
