Abstract (English)

This press kit, translated into English from German, includes a press release, preprints of the foreword and essays from the exhibition catalogue, biographical notes, as well as a CD ROM containing 20 colour TIFF files (images) of exhibited works. The texts all relate to how the exhibition explores the relationship between fashion and art systems, and how garments become sculptural objects, stripped of their utilitarian function and reinvested with meaning (whether they are used as material or as metaphor).
