Abstract (English)

Organized to inaugurate the Cité de l’énergie in Shawinigan, this exhibition includes sixteen artists from Canada and abroad (eight modern and eight contemporary) whose work broach the human condition through representations of the body. Curator Théberge writes on the architecture of the site and the selection of the art works. Eight separate authors analyze the 53 sculptures and installations in light of their production context and in relation to each artist’s evolution. List of works; 2 bibl. ref.
