Abstract (English)

Beck’s “ÖDE” is a spoof of lifestyle catalogues with photos of smartly-dressed people living well with the products they have bought (in this case a wooden armoured tank modelled after mass-produced furniture from Sweden). The catalogue’s exuberant prose describes the positive effect that purchasing this tank will have on the customer.
