Abstract (English)

Nineteen artists respond to the Art Gallery of Prince Albert’s call for artworks that offer a symbolic replacement to the rapidly disappearing image of the grain elevator. Garneau's analysis of the works in the exhibition divides the artists into three groups that reflect different attitudes towards the grain elevator: iconoclasts, iconographers and iconologists. Includes brief statement and biographical note by each artist. List of works. 10 bibl. ref.
