Abstract (English)

Catalogue to accompany an exhibition that focused on the use of text in the visual arts. Highlighting the relations that occur between text, language and meaning, Millar and Wylie introduce the work of five artists from Ontario and Québec and examine how they each use these elements. Wylie traces the emergence of this practice back to Picasso, Braque and the Dadaists. Texts in French and English. Biographical notes on the artists. 1 bibl. ref.

Soulignant les liens qui se créent entre texte, langage et sens, Millar et Wylie présentent les œuvres de cinq artistes ontariens et québécois en montrant comment ils manient à leur façon ces éléments.
