Mapping the Surface : The Process of Recent Toronto SculptureTools Grenville, Bruce. Mapping the Surface : The Process of Recent Toronto Sculpture. Saskatoon, Sask.: Mendel Art Gallery, 1986.
Abstract (English)In his analysis of Toronto sculpture, Grenville uses the double analogy of process and territoriality, and a conceptual model based on Tolman's notion "cognitive mapping" to enumerate the hidden meanings inherent in an essentially corporeal medium. The work of Boigon, Clarkson, Miller, Noguchi and Van Halm is described. Biographical notes.
