Abstract (English)

The earthworks, sculptures and performances of Mendieta were the expression of her sense of identity in relation to the world, nature and others. Many of the artist's ephemeral body/landscape works ("silueta") were spiritual, as well as feminist or political gestures. Posthumous documentation of her life production includes two historic/analytic essays, photographs and a significant five-page bibliography.
