Abstract (English)

Thirteen texts by ten authors explore aspects of the museum such as the structure's function, social and political facets, along with the significance of installation, the phenomenon of collecting, and the development of artist-run centres in Canada. Includes contributions by and/or on 17 diverse artists whose work addresses the artist's relationship to the institution. Introduction by Gale.
