Abstract (English)

Decter discusses the origin of General Idea and presents a survey of the trio's activity, treating such issues as the group's use of popular culture, false archeology, and the use of institutional and public spaces. Malsch examines General Idea's production of multiples and editions. Dompierre discusses the exhibition of works by the group as event, treating the effects of familiarity and discomfort. Schmidt-Wulffen offers a discussion of the placebo series, and Ammann comments on the heraldic series. Biographical notes. Bibl. 3 p.
