Abstract (English)

Fleming's essay focuses on the development of the "mobilized gaze" and presents Barrette and Geleynse as attempting to restore critical awareness of the distance between representation and world. Yau treats analogies between the artists' work with regard to the position of the viewer and the use of home movies and daguerreotypes. 8 bibl. ref.
