Abstract (English)

This catalogue analyses the duchampian legacy through contributions by 9 essayists and 18 European artists. The authors trace the development and influence of Duchamp's annihilation of the work of art in favour of the ready made, while meditating on the inherent and contradictory nature of Duchamp's project and his deliberate "avoidance of labour". 50 bibl. ref.
