Abstract (English)

While Watson proposes a history of the Levy family in Hamilton since the middle of the 19th century, Ness draws a portrait of Dr. H.H. Levy (1902-1990) as an art collector and follows his long association with McMaster University. Includes a list of the Levy collection and an extensively annotated catalogue of the Levy bequest which includes historical, modern, and contemporary art works. Bibl. 4 p.
