Abstract (English)Through the work of 11 women artists, this catalogue explores the convergence, in the early 1970s, of the American feminist movement and of a "shifting of sensibilities within the dominant abstract aesthetic". Four essayists analyse the impact of the feminist revision in visual arts practice and theory, the call into question of minimalist art and rhetoric, and the emergence of "gendered subjectivity". Includes an interview where Lippard comments on her activity as writer and activist, and a chronology of events that marked that period. Biographical notes. Circa 100 bibl. ref.
