Abstract (English)As a corrective, the Guerrilla Girls survey the last two thousand years of Western Art and celebrate the women artists within it. Examining the attitudes towards women which have led to the devaluation of women as artists, the authors argue that the history of art has been one of discrimination. Brief biographies of selected women showcase the manner in which they have, against the odds, become great artists. Bibliography 3 p. Edit this item (login required): |
