Abstract (English)

Gurney asserts that changing interpretations of architecture constantly redefine a building's position in culture. Tregebov looks at examples of Toronto area architecture from 1984-86, relating them to the modernist idea of a building as an object or historical referent. Patton examines how artists use architectural references.
