Abstract (English)Anthropologist and collector Williamson describes his travels amongst the different Inuit communities of the Northwest Territories and Quebec, as well as his friendship with and incites on the artists of his collection. Their sculptures in stone and whale-bone are documented in an essay by Zepp, and discussed in the light of regional context and artists' individual personalities, with an emphasis placed on the Keewatin sculptors who form the core of this exhibition. 26 bibl. ref.
