Abstract (English)

Catalogue for a group exhibition - consisting of more than 150 works by regional, Canadian, international and First Nations artists - which attempts to outline the central themes present within the Kamloops Art Gallery's permanent collection. In his catalogue essay, Hunter begins by outlining his curatorial philosophy, which places emphasis upon the idea that curating is a process-based performative act. He then gives an experiential description of installing the artworks, suggesting that the logic underlying their placement forms a counter-narrative to traditional art historical/curatorial perspectives.
