Abstract (English)

This anthology collects critical writing and artist’s projects from the second decade of the journal October’s publication, from 1986 to 1996. The journal’s concern with cultural production in the public sphere is reflected in the essays, gathered here into four sections that address the main themes of art and art history; postcolonial discourse; body politics and psychoanalysis; and spectacle and institutional critique.
